When the revered Serbian weekly magazine Zabavnik invited only male authors to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the famous comic Hägar the Horrible, Serbian author Jana (Yana) Adamović immediately protested. The editor’s tone-deaf answer that no female authors possess the needed quality rightly angered the community of diverse creators and their supporters in the Balkans.
